Summer DBT Skills Intensive 2023

For College Students and Young Adults

Our Summer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Intensive Program will meet over an eight week period during the summer 2023. This intensive will provide an introduction to all four DBT skill sets during the summer (instead of the usual 6 month time period).

This skills group program will be held on Thursdays from 5-7pm. The start date is May 25 (however, admissions are rolling and individuals can start at any point during the summer as the skills will be repeated throughout the summer and into early fall).

This intensive is for college students and young adults struggling with emotion regulation issues, anger management difficulties, anxiety, stress, depression, or eating issues. Participants will learn concrete coping skills to ready themselves for the upcoming school and work year.

What are the four DBT skill sets? The skills from DBT are specifically designed to help people who struggle with emotional regulation difficulties. The skills to be taught and practiced include:

  • Core Mindfulness
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness
