Adolescent DBT Program

DBT Multifamily Skills Training for Adolescents & Parents (8th-12th Graders)

Weekly Multifamily Skills Group: Tuesdays 5:45-7:15pm (Parent(s) and Adolescent attend together)

The Koch Center’s Adolescent DBT Program is for teens with a variety of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, OCD, BPD, self-harm/impulse disorders, and eating disorders. Our program is for 8th-12th graders and teaches the full set of DBT Skills (Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Mindfulness, Walking the Middle Path), reinforcing them throughout the week. It takes approximately 6.5 months to go through all DBT modules. One or Both Parents are required to attend skills group each week.

The Adolescent DBT Program at The Koch Center consists of three components: the weekly DBT Skills Group, a weekly individual DBT therapy session for the teen, and a parent DBT session with one of our DBT therapists (the frequency of which will depend on your teen’s treatment plan). One or both parents must attend skills group with their teen. After graduating from the skills group, the teen and parents may continue in individual therapy and parent sessions.
