Adolescent DBT Programs

 The Koch Center’s DBT Program treats teens with a variety of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, OCD, BPD, self-harm/impulse disorders, and eating disorders.  Our Adolescent DBT Program for 8th-12th graders teaches the full set of DBT Skills, reinforcing them throughout the week. Adolescents in our DBT program must be in weekly individual therapy (at The Koch Center or with their own outside therapist).

5:15-6:45 DBT Multifamily Skills Group (skills taught to parent(s) as well as adolescent)
 
Tuesday Night Adolescent DBT Program (Virtual)
6:00-7:30 DBT Multifamily Skills Group (skills taught to parent(s) as well as adolescent)
 
Wednesday Night Adolescent DBT Program (Virtual)
7:30-9:00 Adolescent DBT Skills & Diary Card Group
8:00-9:00 Parent DBT Skills Group

Any adolescents with recent or current ‘Target One’ urges or behaviors (suicidal ideation or self-harming behaviors) will be required to attend weekly individual DBT sessions with one of The Koch Center’s DBT therapists. Adolescents are encouraged to continue with their existing outside therapist in addition to the individual DBT sessions.

DBT Program for Middle Schoolers

DBT Multifamily Skills Training for Middle Schoolers & Parents

Wednesdays 5:45-6:45pm at The Koch Center (Virtual)

This DBT Program treats Middle Schoolers (5th-7th graders) with a variety of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, OCD, emotion regulation disorders, self-harm/impulse disorders, and eating disorders. Our DBT Program for Middle Schoolers teaches the full set of DBT Skills to kids and their parents (so that parents can reinforce the skills at home during the week), with homework to review throughout the week. It takes approximately 6 months to go through all DBT modules (Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Middle Path). *One or Both Parents are required to attend each week.

Individuals in our DBT programs must be in weekly individual therapy (at The Koch Center or with their own outside therapist). Any middle schoolers with recent or current ‘Target One’ urges or behaviors (suicidal ideation or self-harming behaviors) will be required to attend weekly individual DBT sessions with one of The Koch Center’s DBT therapists. Adolescents are encouraged to continue with their existing outside therapist in addition to the individual DBT sessions. Weekly attendance is mandatory for all participants.
